Acquisition and testing a netbook
Looking for a laptop which is very mobile (small in weight and size) and inexpensive, I began to look at these machines that have become popular: the netbooks.
I was advised on taking the MSI Wind U100.

MSI Wind U100
I have bought it. Considering the capacity of the RAM just a little, I opened my NETBOOK and I added a 1 GB card (the maximum capacity of 2 GB is reached). The operating system is Windows XP (in fact these small PCs are the only way wich permit to legally obtain Windows XP currently), I installed (in dual-boot) a Kubuntu through a reader/burner external DVD I had.
Compatibility issue, almost all components of the Wind are supported by Kubuntu. Almost … not all … In fact, the wireless card and webcam are not at all supported
Do not panic! I found a link for the wireless card in the official Ubuntu documentation (I have chosen method No. 2 for installing the driver …). Regarding the webcam, contrary to what said the Ubuntu documentation, it is not supported. I even found an article in searching a little.
To conclude, my MSI Wind U100 operates under KDE4.2 (with effects and everything!
) and allows me to continue working even when I’m traveling (I use Eclipse without any problems).
To work without ruining there is nothing better! And it just heats up, it is very light and it takes more than 3 hours battery life!

Conclusion : la même que la tienne, un must have pour les déplacements
