The first images of Google Chrome OS?

Google Chrome OS is the future operating system from Google. This system will be, according to its creators, as light as possible and its use closely related to Internet browsing through Google Chrome browser and Google online services (Gmail, Gtalk, Google docs, etc.).. It is therefore intended to netbooks and should be released in the second half of 2010.

However, it seems that images of the future operating system are available on the net.

Chromium

ChromiumAs I wrote in one of my previous articles, I have a netbook on which I installed Kubuntu. Everything works fine but Firefox seems a little too heavy for this kind of machines :( That’s why I decided to try another web browser lighter. So I tried Chromium, cross-platform browser developed by Google. Not to be confused with Chrome, another browser from Google. Chrome is from Chromium but it is a proprietary software, while Chromium is free. That’s why, this article is about Chromium, not Chrome.

Acquisition and testing a netbook

Looking for a laptop which is very mobile (small in weight and size) and inexpensive, I began to look at these machines that have become popular: the netbooks.

I was advised on taking the MSI Wind U100.
